The BLU Retreat - November 8-11, 2025

This year, the retreat will begin on Saturday, November 8th, and end Tuesday, November 11th, which is Veterans Day.

Request those vacation days — but this year, be sure to ask for Monday off! And don’t forget to start setting aside those funds — it’ll be worth every penny!

This Year's Location!

Nestled on 173 acres in the tranquil Angeles National Forest, this unique and fully accessible camp offers the perfect setting for our unique program, deep connection, and unforgettable fun.

Join us for four days, as we transform the site into the ultimate black lesbian paradise. This new retreat center provides a beautiful backdrop for it all—complete with fresh mountain air, open skies, and all the charm of a classic camp with modern comforts.

Highlights include:

  • Lakeside views, forest trails, and wide-open meadows
  • Communal gathering spaces, campfire circles, and outdoor adventure areas
  • A spirit of joy, belonging, and purpose infused into every corner of camp
  • Fully accessible facilities designed with care and inclusivity in mind

This year, we have two lodging options for all comfort levels including charming and spacious cabins, as well as private style lodge rooms.

Each cabin features:

  • Spacious sleeping areas with single beds, no bunk bed sleeping unless you want to!
  • Each bunk is adorned with a handmade quilt, crafted to add a personal, homey touch to each sleeping nook. All linen is provided, but you might want to bring your own pillow. You know how we are.
  • Private bathrooms right inside the cabin—no late-night walks across camp.
  • A comfortable common room in the center of each cabin, perfect for games (Whist anyone?), conversations, or winding down from your retreat day.
  • A covered front porch with handmade rocking chairs—great for relaxing and soaking in the peaceful surroundings.

For those who seek more privacy, easier access, or simply a quieter environment, our Two-Person Suites include:

  • A private room for two. (Double occupancy... register with a partner or a friend, or we'll connect you with a roommate!)
  • Private bathrooms for comfort and convenience
  • Comfortable beds in a quiet setting, ideal for rest after a full day of camp activities
  • Climate control to keep you comfortable
  • Bedding and linens are included!
  • This retreat will begin on Saturday, November 8th, and end Tuesday, November 11th, which is Veterans Day.

What's included in your BLU All Access Pass?

Note:

BLU is using Zeffy, a 100% free platform for nonprofits, to manage our registration. This allows us to save thousands in fees!

During registration, you will see a section asking for a donation to Zeffy. This is not a BLU fee—it’s a completely optional contribution to support Zeffy.

If you prefer not to donate or to change the donation amount, you can select “Other” from the dropdown and enter a dollar amount or $0, if you don't want to donate to them. No judgment either way—we just want you to be aware.

Volunteering Options

Volunteers are a vital part of our retreat, and it’s a great way to be able to attend and work with our amazing team!

Volunteering at the retreat is great way to attend at a reduced cost!
Our goal is for volunteers to contribute $300 toward the registration fee, which can be paid all at once, or in two installment payments!

Your financial and service contributions are vital to the success of the retreat, however, we don’t want a lack of finances to be the reason you stay at home.

Examples of volunteer duties include: helping before the retreat, setting up onsite, assisting workshop presenters, breaking down after the retreat, and more.

Workshop Presenters

Lead. Inspire. Empower.

We’re excited to invite community members to share their knowledge, creativity, and experiences by presenting a workshop at this year's retreat. Whether your passion lies in dance & fitness, business/career/finance, personal growth & healing, arts, sexuality & relationships, spirituality & ancestral wisdom, and more, this is a chance to create space for learning, growth, and joy.

The workshops at the retreat are the heart and soul of the weekend, and we encourage you to step forward and bring your ideas to life with us!

What do we do at the retreat?

What do we do at the retreat?

  • We've been hosting these retreats since 1991. Literally thousands have basked in the joy of their sistahs over the decades.
  • The 3rd most common reason folks hesitate to register is a fear of not knowing anyone there. To solve that, we have a Facebook group and Zoom opportunities for you to meet others before the retreat, but even if you just come... you'll find it the most welcoming place on earth.
  • Still worried you won't know anyone? Click Here.
