Note:
BLU is using Zeffy, a 100% free platform for nonprofits, to manage our registration. This allows us to save thousands in fees!
During registration, you will see a section asking for a donation to Zeffy. This is not a BLU fee—it’s a completely optional contribution to support Zeffy.
If you prefer not to donate or to change the donation amount, you can select “Other” from the dropdown and enter a dollar amount or $0, if you don't want to donate to them. No judgment either way—we just want you to be aware.

Volunteers are a vital part of our retreat, and it’s a great way to be able to attend and work with our amazing team!
Volunteering at the retreat is great way to attend at a reduced cost!
Our goal is for volunteers to contribute $300 toward the registration fee, which can be paid all at once, or in two installment payments!
Your financial and service contributions are vital to the success of the retreat, however, we don’t want a lack of finances to be the reason you stay at home.
Examples of volunteer duties include: helping before the retreat, setting up onsite, assisting workshop presenters, breaking down after the retreat, and more.
Lead. Inspire. Empower.
We’re excited to invite community members to share their knowledge, creativity, and experiences by presenting a workshop at this year's retreat. Whether your passion lies in dance & fitness, business/career/finance, personal growth & healing, arts, sexuality & relationships, spirituality & ancestral wisdom, and more, this is a chance to create space for learning, growth, and joy.
The workshops at the retreat are the heart and soul of the weekend, and we encourage you to step forward and bring your ideas to life with us!
A better question is... What do we NOT do at the retreat?
Workshops, Dances, Singles Activities, Couples Activities, Games, Arts/Crafts, Hiking, Entertainment, Talent Sharing, Vending, Drumming, Afrikan Dancing... and more.
And this year...
The Black Dandy Ball!
